HMSC Hot Melt Field Guide
Our catalog: identification, replacement parts and service for nozzles, modules, guns, hoses, Legacy and ProBlue® melters, nonwovens applicators and the DeltaMix foam system. Download the complete guide, or one binder section at a time.
Nordson® H200 nozzles come in three types. Identify the type by its shape, then read the orifice size on the hex. The engagement length or the spray angle completes the part number.
Nozzle typePencil (straight), right angle or button.
Orifice sizeHMSC nozzles are marked on the lower half of the hex face.
Engagement length or anglePencil: .050, .075, .100, .150 or .300. Right angle and button: number of orifices and angle.
Nordson 322030 and 322040 are .150 engagement despite the 3220 number.
Engagement length is the length of the small orifice bore inside the insert. The .050 to .150 nozzles look the same from outside, so confirm with the part number on the package or your order history. The .300 nozzle has a visibly longer tip.
Right angle Look at the orifice face
Single 901 orifice, 90 degree. 10110xx
Dual 152 orifices, 15 degree total. 10158xx
Dual 302 orifices, 30 degree total. 10159xx
One hole = single. Two holes = dual. Dual 15 and dual 30 look alike from the front; the angle between the two streams is 15 or 30 degrees total. Confirm with the marking or package. Shop right angle nozzles

Triple Radial 303 orifices 120 degrees apart around the dome, each 30 degrees off center
Quad 404 orifices, 40 degrees across
Single: angle off center. Dual: angle between the two streams. Dual 0/A: one on center, one A off center. Triple and quad: total angle across the outer streams. See Button bead position for where each stream lands.

Identify an original Nordson Saturn nozzle by its color rings
Original Nordson Saturn nozzles carry two colored rings. The top band shows engagement length (pencil) or angle (right angle). The lower band shows orifice size. Each cell shows the top band, part number and lower band.
The Saturn color code and part numbers are the property of Nordson Corporation and are shown for identification reference only. HMSC nozzles are marked with the orifice size on the hex instead of rings.
HMSC nozzles
What sets them apart
Phosphor brassBodies machined from high quality phosphor brass, stainless steel inserts.
Precision drilledOrifice diameter held to ±.0005 in. Drilled holes shoot straighter.
Less droolLess likely to drool than nozzles made with pressed in hypodermic needle stock.
Checked by handOrifice probed, insert pressed in and crimped, stream checked for straightness, then labeled and packaged.
Guide 2 · Button nozzles
Button bead position
Where each stream meets the product, 0.5 to 3 in from the nozzle tip. Find the stream angle of your pattern in the table, then read the offset from the nozzle centerline at your distance.
Offset from the nozzle centerline, inches in bold, millimeters in gray. Approximate: pressure, temperature, viscosity and line speed move the bead.
Distances are measured from the nozzle tip. The streams start at the dome center, 0.10 in above the tip. A dual pattern puts each stream half of the listed angle off center (Dual 30: 15° each side); a triple adds a center stream; the Quad 40 streams sit 20° and 6.7° each side. Streams and distances are drawn to scale.
Guide 3 · Heated hoses
Hose identification
Identify a hose by the connectors on each end. The melter end of every packaging, washdown and hand gun hose is the same 12 pin connector, so look at the applicator end first.

Guide 4 · H200 and MB2 guns
Gun configuration code
Every H200 and MB2 gun is described by a configuration code. Have a code, an HMSC part number or the Nordson gun number? Decode it here. Otherwise identify the gun family, then read each field from the gun. Together the fields give the exact replacement gun, body or parts.

Module spacing has one 3 digit group per gap between modules (a 4 module gun has 3 groups). A single module gun uses 000. The decoder shows whether a spacing is a released body; other combinations are built to order.

Guide 5 · H200 and mini modules
Module identification
H200 and MiniBlue modules look alike from the outside. Two checks tell you which one you have, so you can order the right replacement module, rebuild kit and nozzle.
1Air type Count the ports on the back
AOACNC²

AOSCNC²
AOSCStandard
3 ports (hot melt, air open, air close) = AOAC, Air Open Air Closed. Fixed air cap with a plain round top.
2 ports (hot melt, air open) = AOSC, Air Open Spring Closed. Adjustable air cap: slotted screw and lock nut.
H200 only. All mini modules are AOAC.
2Needle style Remove the nozzle and look at the tip
StandardNo needle visible, only the seat face. Brass (yellow) nozzles.
NC² on H200, NC on mini modules: the pointed needle seals inside the nozzle, close to the orifice. Standard modules close with a carbide ball on a seat inside the module.
Before you remove a nozzle: relieve hydraulic pressure, shut off air to the gun, and wear heat resistant gloves and eye protection.
H200 standard modules Ball and seat · entry level and filtered · brass nozzles
Shown: the filtered ball and seat module T10F29B5S-F100 or -F200 (AOSC, internal filter). Needle shown in blue. Like the entry level T10F29B5S and T10F29B7S, it closes with a carbide ball on a seat inside the module, so no needle shows with the nozzle off.H200 standard part numbers (4)
AOSC (Air Open Spring Closed) · ball and seat (filtered, 200 mesh)
Filtered module upgrade. For tough applications, such as small orifices (.008 and .012) or right angle applications, we recommend the filtered ball and seat modules T10F29B5S-F100 and T10F29B5S-F200 for Nordson® 1052925 AOSC modules. A 100 or 200 mesh filter sits just ahead of the nozzle and catches char and debris before it can plug the orifice. The entry level T10F29B5S and T10F29B7S use the standard seal design.
H200 NC² modules Needle and seat · filter built in · AOSC and AOAC
Mini NC module. Adds a precision wiper after the hydraulic seal; a brass triangle spacer and precision washer lower the pressure on the seal. The standard (ball and seat) mini module has the same features except the NC needle and seat.Mini module part numbers (7)

When you call or order, have the module family (H200 or mini), air type (AOAC or AOSC), needle style (NC², NC or standard), the nozzle orifice size if replacing nozzles, and the gun model and number of modules. Call 1-888-202-1788.
